A Leader in DUI Defense Education
As drunk driving laws have become tougher in recent years, so too has the need for new and more effective defense skills. To meet this need, the National College for DUI Defense was formed several years ago. The College provides the only DUI certification program recognized by the American Bar Association. It offers training in the latest legal concepts, blood and breath alcohol testing techniques, and other valuable skills to a select group of DUI defense attorneys.
Attorney's Jeremy Rosenthal and Lonn Heymann are among a handful of Colorado DUI defense attorneys admitted to the National College for DUI Defense. The College's rigorous training program includes courses in:
- Effective trial skills, including making opening statements and closing arguments
- All aspects of breath and blood alcohol testing
- Methods for attacking field sobriety tests and breathalyzer tests
- Techniques for cross-examining police officers and prosecution experts
- Development and use of defense expert witnesses
- Anatomy, biology, chemistry, physiology, and toxicology as they relate to alcohol consumption
Attorney Rosenthal and Heymann completed the College's intensive program at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts and are now two-time Summer Session graduates.
