You Do Not Need to Help the Police Build a Case against You
If you've been pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence, you may be asked to take a portable breath test or field sobriety tests. Always politely decline to take these.
The officer might tell you that:
- taking the test can prove your innocence
- you will likely be let go if you take the test
- you will be arrested if you refuse the test
