Arapahoe County includes both urban and rural areas across the 850 square miles of land that make up the county. It is the third most populous county, with over 500,000 residents. Arapahoe County has a rich history that dates back to the Gold Rush era and residents call the county “Colorado’s First County.” The county features many beautiful parks and recreational outlets. Arapahoe County has over 200,000 homes, with a density of 245 homes per square mile. The county saw an increase in population of 17.2% between 2000 and 2010.
