Castle Rock

Castle Rock was founded in 1881, and today encompasses more than 33 square miles of land. Castle Rock is the 17th largest city in Colorado and is the county seat of Douglas County. It was named for the tower-shaped butte in the middle of the town. It’s located 37 miles north of Colorado Springs and 28 miles south of Denver.

Recreation and Parks

Castle Rock is known for it’s quaint downtown area, which features a number of unique shops and restaurants. Red Hawk Ridge is an internationally known golf course that features a 6,942-yard course with extreme elevation changes, wildlife and a dramatic view. While the PGA tour may no longer stop at Red Hawk Ridge, the course is staffing with PGA golf pros and is a destination worth visiting, regardless of skill level.
